Constructed in the 1960s, the dam’s southern shore is easily accessible and home to scenic views, including the road to Samokov and the Borovets ski resort, making it more populated. In contrast, the northern shore is known for its lush green fields, forests, and beaches, offering a more serene and untouched environment. Overview
Iskar Lake Kayaking Tour
The North shore is about 80 km away from Sofia and the trip takes slightly over an hour. Upon arrival at the lake we will prepare the kayak for the trip along the shore where we will observe nothing but wild nature and animals. Depending on the season we can have lunch in a nearby restaurant where they cook one of the best fish soups we have ever tried. In the afternoon we can reach the shore across from our arrival point and enjoy a beautiful sandy beach. We paddle back to the minibus where we will prepare for our journey back to Sofia.
