The Rhodope Mountains is the largest mountain in Bulgaria and takes about 1/7 from the territory of the country. For some people this is the most scenic mountain in Bulgaria! The Rodopi mountains are located some 200kms south-east of Sofia.

 

Here we would like to offer you to visit Trigrad village, the Devil’s Throat cave and it’s astonishing hiking trail, Haramiiska cave, Jagodinska cave, Buinovsko Gorge. You will have the chance to experience also a Via Ferrata climbing, Mount St. Ilia with it’s unique panorama view point Eagle’s Eye and finally enter in a water cave in a raft and then а relaxing walk in a local traditional village.

 

The Rhodope Mountains, the largest mountain range in Bulgaria, covers about one-seventh of the country’s territory and is considered by some to be the most scenic in Bulgaria. Located approximately 200 kilometers southeast of Sofia, this mountain range offers a variety of stunning natural attractions. During your visit, you’ll explore the charming Trigrad village and its impressive Devil’s Throat cave, along with other fascinating sites like the Haramiiska cave, Jagodinska cave, and Buinovsko Gorge. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to experience exciting activities such as Via Ferrata climbing and hiking to the Eagle’s Eye viewpoint on Mount St. Ilia, offering panoramic views of the landscape. To conclude your adventure, you’ll enter a water cave by raft and enjoy a relaxing walk through a traditional local village.

Overview

Your 3 Days in Rhodope Mountain

Day 1

On the first day we will take the beautiful road along Vacha Dam and the 4 hour drive will take us to Trigrad area where we will check in a beautiful scenic hotel. Then we continue our drive to Trigrad gorge and the Devil’s Throat cave. It is an abyss cave which has been formed upon collapsing of earth layers. The cave is well explored, electrified and suitable for visitors, but it is still full with mysteries. After that you will be equipped (equipment will provided by V Travel) and follow our guide to experience Via Ferrata hiking.Then continue our journey to Haramiiska cave. After this exhausting program we will get back to the hotel for overnight and enjoy the wonderful restaurant, offering Bulgarian traditional dishes, made with bio products.

Day 2

On the next morning we will start with easy walking from our hotel to Eagle’s Eye panorama view (1.5 hours). We will enjoy the scenic picture and go back to the hotel to pick up the car and head to the Devil’s ecotrail, where you will see the highest cliff bridge in Bulgaria. After this full of adrenaline experience we will visit the more relaxing Jagodinska cave and admire the nature and time. Then we head back to the hotel for overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast we check out and go to a perfectly preserved village, where you can explore local architect style from late 18th-19th century. After this we will head to your last extreme adventure – entering in a water cave with a boat. On the way back to Sofia we will pull over and enjoy one of the most famous natural phenomenon – The Marvelous Bridges.

 

Our tour will end with drop off at your hotel/accommodation or airport in Sofia.

 

Overnight stay is a pleasure in some of the local guesthouses or family hotels, welcoming people with their hospitality and Rodopi special and typical meals. This tour is very appropriate for beginner hikers and climbers or families with children as walking around the fascinating Rodopi mountains is fairly easy.
