Your Plovdiv Wine Tasting Private Tour

Indulge in a great wine-tasting tour and experience Europe’s oldest city – Plovdiv. The tour begins at 9:00 AM with a private hotel pick up in Sofia, followed by a scenic two-hour drive to the historic Old Town of Plovdiv.

Upon arrival, the tour embarks on a relaxing walk, admiring the beautiful 19th-century Revival houses of the wealthiest people in Plovdiv. What follows is the Ancient Theater, located on one of the city’s highest hills.In addition, at the end of our walk you will have the opportunity to taste local alcoholic drinks and rose oil products, offering the perfect introduction to Bulgarian traditional flavours. After exploring the Old Town, we satisfy our appetite in a cozy Bulgarian restaurant on our way to the wine cellar, where you can optionally enjoy a delicious lunch.

Finally, we will arrive at the “chateau” around 2:00 PM, where you will learn about the winery’s fascinating history before savouring five different fantastic wines, concluding the Plodiv wine tasting tour with wonderful memories as we head back to Sofia around 4:30 PM.

Itinerary for Plovdiv and Wine Tasting Private Tour

9:00 Our Plovdiv wine tasting tour will start from your hotel in Sofia at 9:00.After a 2-hour drive, we will reach the Old town of Plovdiv. Here we will spend 2 hours admiring the wonderful Revival houses of the richest people in Plovdiv from 19th century before we proceed to the Ancient theater, located on one of the highest hills in the city. In the end of our walk you will have the chance to taste some locally produced alcoholic drinks and rose oil products. This option will fulfil your Bulgarian traditional cuisine experience. After we visit the old town we will continue our tour to a small typical Bulgarian restaurant on our way to the winery. In addition, you can have lunch there upon request. Around 14:00 we will arrive at the “chateau”. Finally, We will learn the amazing history of the winery and after that we will proceed with tasting 5 different kinds of fantastic wines.
16:30 We will start our journey back to Sofia with wonderful memories from the day

It was very organised with excellent communication beforehand and during, and smooth comfortable travelling in the vehicle. It was really interesting to visit all the different locations and learn a bit more about the history, even though some of it wasn’t always pleasant such as the visit to the concentration camp. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and gave a good mix of background information while also letting us find out more and explore the sites themselves, as well as going out of his way to make aure we had places we could eat/exchange money/pay with card in Nis itself.
