At the start of the Serbia and Macedonia small group tour with individual pickup from hotel an english-speaking V-travel guide will pick you up from your accommodation or hotel in Sofia at 9:00 and after a 2-hour drive with changing scenery you will reach the Serbian border. After crossing the border you will go a nearby town of Bosilegrad (former Yugoslavia and now in Serbia).

Next, you will enjoy a short walk and a cup of coffee before you cross back the border with Bulgaria and head for Northern Macedonia. Another short drive after the border crossing will take to the beautiful Monastery of Osogovo – an incredibly magnificent place in the mountains from the 12-th century, which turned into a mosque by the Ottomans and again into a church. Furthermore, you will have lunch in this beautiful nature setting a la Macedonian with a salad and a choice of main course (meat, fish or vegetarian) and a drink or beer of course! In addition, the place is very scenic and very peaceful for a walk after the lunch and before the relaxing road trip back to Sofia. It was very organised with excellent communication beforehand and during, and smooth comfortable travelling in the vehicle. It was really interesting to visit all the different locations and learn a bit more about the history, even though some of it wasn’t always pleasant such as the visit to the concentration camp. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and gave a good mix of background information while also letting us find out more and explore the sites themselves, as well as going out of his way to make aure we had places we could eat/exchange money/pay with card in Nis itself.
